HC Deb 19 December 1986 vol 107 cc834-5W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations the Minister of State, Department of Transport, has received from the chairman of the Greater Manchester passenger transport authority concerning the provision of bus services in the conurbation over the Christmas and new year holiday period; what action he is taking; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

I have received a letter from the chairman of Greater Manchester passenger transport authority telling me of difficulties which have been experienced in arranging Christmas and new year services. This is a matter for the passenger transport authority; I notice that other transport authorities seem to have been more successful in arranging some basic services over the holiday period.
