HC Deb 19 December 1986 vol 107 c756W
Mr. Lawler

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking to seek to persuade the Nigerian Government to refrain from imposing unworkable trading arrangements on British Caledonian Airways.

Mr. Eggar

The FCO in London and the British high commission in Lagos have been active in making representations to the Nigerian authorities at a variety of levels on behalf of British Caledonian Airways, in order to ensure fair treatment for the airline in the Nigerian market.

Both in Lagos and in London, we have kept in close touch with the airline and remain ready to intervene further on its behalf as and when this is likely to help.
