§ 80. Mr. Leightonasked the Paymaster General what was the size of the Wages Inspectorate in 1979; what is it now; and what plans he has for its future.
§ Mr. TrippierThe numbers of staff in post in the Wages Inspectorate on 1 September 1979 and on 1 December 1986 were 290.5 (including 158 outdoor inspectors) and 156 (including 85 outdoor inspectors) respectively.
The number of posts is being reduced to 139 (including 71 outdoor inspectors) by 1 April 1987.
