§ Mr. McGuire

asked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) if he will list in the Official Report for each of the power stations listed in his reply to the hon. Member for Makerfield on 2 December, Official Report, columns 544–45, what rated output of electricity was used in the original calculation of net effective cost when approval for construction was given; what is the present rated output of each station; whether the net effective cost per kilowatt has been recalculated to take account of any relevant downrating; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will list in the Official Report for each of the power stations listed in his reply to the hon. Member for Makerfield on 2 December, Official Report, columns 544–45, what additional capital expenditure has been incurred on improving safety features since construction was completed; whether the net effective cost of each station has been recalculated to take account of such additional expenditure; and if he will make a statement;

(3) if he will list in the Official Report for each of the power stations listed in his reply to the hon. Member for Makerfield on 2 December, Official Report, columns 544–45, the net effective cost in pounds per kilowatt per 474W year (a) as originally calculated when approval for construction was given and (b) as recalculated on the basis of actual cost of construction and actual time of construction; and if he will make a statement;

(4) if he will list in the Official Report for each of the power stations listed in his reply to the hon. Member for Makerfield, on 2 December, Official Report, columns 544–45, what availability factor was used in the original calculation of net effective cost when approval for construction was given; what are the highest and lowest availability factors recorded for each station since construction; whether the net effective cost of each station has been recalculated to take account of the actual availability achieved; and if he will make a statement.
