HC Deb 12 December 1986 vol 107 c276W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if pursuant to his answer of 25 July to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy, Official Report, column 518, he will identify those ports besides Barrow through which pass consignments of spent nuclear fuel from overseas.

Mr. David Mitchell

Spent nuclear fuel is transported from Switzerland via Dunkerque/Dover and from the Netherlands via Rotterdam/Immingham. Exceptionally one flask entered the United Kingdom via Ipswich during 1986, because of industrial action at Immingham.
