HC Deb 12 December 1986 vol 107 c266W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much money is spent by the British Council on its work in the Caribbean countries; and how many permanent staff they have to undertake work in those countries.

Mr. Eggar

In 1985–86 the British Council spent £37,000 of its own resources in the Caribbean countries. It also handled £1,591,000 on behalf of the FCO, ODA and others. The Council has no permanent staff working in the Caribbean.
