HL Deb 09 December 1986 vol 482 c1139WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether in view of the statement by Lord Trefgarne (20th November, H.L. Deb., col. 344) that "a supply of Blowpipe would be inconsistent" with their belief that the problems of the Central American region cannot be solved by armed force and the fact that they have called for a reduction in arms levels in that region, they will make representations to the United States administration against the inclusion of British-made weapons among those being supplied to the Contra rebels.

Baroness Young

We ensure that the United States Government are aware of our views on all aspects of the situation in Central America.
