Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) if he will list in the Official Report the level of imports of cheap high-tar cigarettes into the United Kingdom in each of the past three years; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will list the countries who have exported cheap high-tar cigarettes into the United Kingdom over the past three years; and what was the level of each country's exports.

Available information is limited to total cigarette imports, as tar levels are not separately identified in the OTS. Major exporters of cigarettes to the United Kingdom for the past three years are as follows:
