§ Sir Patrick Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made to the Government of Zimbabwe regarding the detention of the staff of the Legion Zimbabwe.
§ Mrs. ChalkerOf the two Legion Zimbabwe staff who were detained, one was a mono-British citizen and the other had dual Zimbabwean and British citizenship. However, both were released on bail after overnight detention. There was therefore no occasion for representations. Our High Commission in Harare is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to offer such consular assistance as they properly can during any subsequent legal proceedings.
