§ Mr. RifkindSince January 1984 an officer within my Department has been designated as equal opportunities officer with responsibility for co-ordinating policy and advising on all equal opportunity matters concerning racial and sexual discrimination.
The implementation of the programme of action on equal opportunities for women in the Civil Service is being progressed in my Department by a joint management and trade union group and advice is given to staff as matters are agreed by the group.
