§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement on the initiatives which the United Kingdom deputation intends to take at the preparatory committee for the biological weapons convention review conference in Geneva.
§ Mr. RentonThe preparatory committee for the biological weapons convention review conference will meet in Geneva from 28 April to 2 May. It is expected to deal exclusively with procedural matters, and is not 223W therefore an appropriate forum in which to launch initiatives. Substantive discussion of the issues will take place at the review conference itself in September.
