The table gives, by speciality, the numbers of hospital consultants employed by the National Health Service in Wales, in terms of whole-time equivalents at 30 September 1979 and 30 September 1985. Information is also provided on the change in inpatient and outpatient waiting lists over this period and on changes in the throughput of inpatient and outpatient cases between 1979 and 1984.
