HC Deb 23 April 1986 vol 96 c161W
Sir Dudley Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why he has refused permission for a senior police officer and an expert witness to travel to northern Cyprus to give evidence in a case concerning many stolen British cars which have been taken to that island and then sold illegally.

Mr. Eggar

No such request has been made, but I understand that the two police forces are in touch about the best way to proceed. We are naturally concerned that those responsible for these thefts should be brought to justice.
