§ Mr. TrippierEmployers are primarily responsible for meeting their own training needs. However, the Government via the Manpower Services Commission provide support, principally through the job training scheme for unemployed people and local training grants to employers, for existing workers and new recruits. The commission's area offices will consider all applications for local training grants from employers including, of course, those in the textile industry. Funds are also available for retraining through industry training organisations, including those in the textile sector.
