§ Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what information he has as to which district councils in Northern Ireland are now functioning normally; which are not, and to what extent; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NeedhamOf the 26 district councils, eight are functioning normally. The remaining 18 district councils are continuing to suspend or adjourn council meetings. There is no indication that this action has affected the delivery of essential services. The Government are monitoring the situation closely and will take such action as is necessary to ensure that essential services are maintained.
