§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what active measures he is taking to introduce the Peto's conductive education system for spastic children and to increase collaboration in this field between the British and Hungarian National Health Service administrations.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe Department has received an application from the Spastics Society for funds to support a study of current provision of conductive education and an evaluation of the implications of wider development of the system in this country. Our officials and officials from the Department of Education and Science will be discussing this application with the Spastics Society in the near future. If this project comes to fruition, we would then consider in the light of the outcome what, if any, steps were desirable to develop conductive education further in this country.
