§ Sir Geoffrey Finsbergasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what facilities have been developed in the four Thames regions to treat the following groups of patients; drug misusers, the elderly, those suffering from mental illness and the mentally handicapped since 1979.
§ Mr. Whitney[pursuant to his reply, 18 November 1985]: This information is not held centrally, since the development of local facilities for the client groups to which my hon. Friend refers are a matter for the four regional health authorities and 58 district health authorities concerned. My hon. Friend may, therefore, find it helpful to contact the regional chairmen about the current position. In relation to services for drug misusers, our report "Drug Misuse: Prevalence and Service Provision" a copy of which is held in the Library, may also prove a useful source.
