Items marked with an asterisk have been granted derogation from complying with the directive but will be reviewed in not more than ten years. There have been no applications in respect of nitrate levels which do not meet the requirements of the directive. Information on lead levels in individual supply areas is currently being gathered. The whole of Scotland is covered by the 48W Government's application to the European Commission for a five-year delay in respect of lead. It is expected that substantial compliance will be achieved in that time.
