§ Mr. Norman Hoggasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to assess the advisability and practicability of introducing speed restrictions on those roads in Cumbernauld new town for which he has responsibility.
§ Mr. AncramThe only roads for which my right hon. Friend has responsibility in Cumbernauld new town are the A73 and A80 trunk roads. He is satisfied that the national speed limit is appropriate for these roads and that the criteria for imposition of a lower limit would not be met.
