HC Deb 24 May 1985 vol 79 c597W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many residences on the Wood Farm camp, Malvern, are being retained for long-term requirements; how many of these are now vacant; for how long any of these properties have been unoccupied; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lee

Five married quarters are to be retained at Wood Farm camp, Malvern to meet long-term requirements. All these quarters are currently occupied.

Twenty-two quarters and most of the other land and buildings which the camp occupies are to be put up for disposal. Disposal action on some of the property has now started and this will continue until all surplus land and buildings have been passed for disposal. Surplus married quarters will first be offered for sale to Servicemen if they are suitable for individual sale. If no bids are received or if they are not suitable for individual sale, they will be sold on the open market.
