Member for Birmingham, Erdington (Mr. Corbett) of 1 December 1983,Official Report, columns 623–26, regarding the numbers of voluntary repatriations assisted under the Supplementary Benefits Act 1976.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe table shows the number of people who have been assisted with voluntary repatriation, from 1 December 1983 to date, under the Supplementary Benefits Act 1976. Since August 1984, only British citizens born overseas or European nationals returning to Europe may be assisted under the DHSS scheme. Other people are now helped through a scheme run by the International Social Service of Great Britain on behalf of the Home Office.
