§ Mr. Beggsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when Her Majesty's Government last made representations to the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding reported violation of human rights of minority groups, including Baha'is; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LuceOn 2 October last year, the Ten made a demarche in Tehran to the Iranian Government expressing the concern felt by the Governments of the Ten at the continued reports of persecution of the Baha'i community in Iran. We followed this up by co-sponsoring the resolution on human rights in Iran at the 41st session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. The resolution was adopted on 13 March.
