HL Deb 07 May 1985 vol 463 c645WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What arrangements have been made within the Home Office Immigration and Nationality Departmeni to ensure that applications for British citizenship made by women whose husbands also had immigration applications pending, and which were previously "frozen", will now be returned to their correct place in the queue and will not be delayed.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Glenarthur)

The purpose of the present arrangements is to preserve the place of the application in the queue.
