HC Deb 02 May 1985 vol 78 cc198-9W
Dr. Glyn

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied that the National Bus Company's pension funds are sufficient to meet all the claims which may be made now or in the future by employees of the National Bus Company; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

I understand that there is at present a deficiency in one of the funds which is being met by an additional employers' contribution. I have made it clear that the Government will ensure that on privatisation of the National Bus Company's operations, the pension schemes are adequately funded on the basis of actuarial assessment of the future liabilities they will have to meet under their rules.
