HC Deb 02 May 1985 vol 78 c212W
27. Mr. Fatchett

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will grant central funding from his Department to crime prevention and victim support schemes currently supported by the Greater London council and metropolitan counties.

Mr. Giles Shaw

My right hon. and learned Friend has no plans to provide Home Office funding in direct substitution for grants currently made by the GLC or the metropolitan counties. After these authorities have been abolished, crime prevention and victim support schemes will continue to be eligible for financial support from London boroughs and metropolitan districts, and from central Government via the urban programme and the community programme.
