§ Mr. John Stradling ThomasTenders are shortly to be let for the A48 Cross Hands-Llanddarog improvement, which when completed will substantially improve communications with south-west Wales. Twelve other major schemes in south-west Wales were listed in tables 2 to 5 of "Roads in Wales 1983", of which the A40 Whitland bypass and Treffgarne Rocks improvement will start later than indicated there.
