§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations he has had, or intends to have, with Civil Service unions about his decision to close the 23 resettlement centres for the homeless.
§ Mr. WhitneyA meeting was held between my hon. Friend the Minister of State for Social Security and the Disabled and the Departmental trade union side on 20 November 1984 to discuss the future of the Department's resettlement units and re-establishment centres. A further meeting has been arranged for 5 March following which consultations will continue to take place at official level through the Department's Whitley machinery.
