§ 25. Mr. Nealeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the future of Hong Kong in the light of the recent visit by the Chinese Prime Minister.
§ Sir Geoffrey HoweThe future of Hong Kong was among the subjects discussed by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister with the Chinese Premier. I also discussed this subject with Foreign Minister Wu Xueqian. Both sides reaffirmed their determination to implement fully the joint declaration on the question of Hong Kong, which was ratified on 27 May and was subsequently registered at the United Nations by both Governments on 12 June.
