§ Sir Geoffrey HoweRelations between the United Kingdom and China are excellent. Premier Zhao Ziyang paid an outstandingly successful official visit from 2 to 8 JUne. His discussions with my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and other members of Her Majesty's Government underlined the potential for further co-operation between Britain and China particularly in economic relations and trade. Both sides will also work to ensure the effective implementation of the Hong Kong joint declaration. Her Majesty the Queen has accepted an invitation to visit China at a time to be agreed.
