§ Mr. Pawseyasked the Secretary of State for Energy what information he has as to whether any oil exploration is taking place in Warwickshire or adjoining counties.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithWarwickshire has relatively little of its area under licence. There are four licences which cover parts of the county and a further six licences covering immediately neighbouring areas of adjoining counties. Since January 1984 I have been notified of three seismic survey programmes under these licences, two of which have been completed and one which is planned to start in July. Two exploration wells in a neighbouring county have been drilled.
