Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what are the detailed criteria applied to lecturers in colleges of education for receipt of Crombie compensation.

The conditions for the payment of Crombie compensation are laid down in The Colleges of Education (Compensation) Regulations 1975, (SI 1975 No. 1092) as amended by the Colleges of Education (Compensation) (Amendment) Regulations 1981, (SI 1981 No. 1088), copies of which are in the Library.

Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many lecturers in colleges of education in England and Wales received Crombie compensation in (a) 1983–84 and (b) 1984–85.
