HC Deb 24 June 1985 vol 81 cc289-90W
Dr. David Clark

asked the Prime Minister who represents the United Kingdom upon the committee meeting under the European Community convention on international trade in endangered species regulations; if she will detail the subjects covered by the agenda of each of the meetings; and if she will indicate those items on which no discussions took place.

The Prime Minister

The United Kingdom is normally represented on this committee by officials from the Department of the Environment and Her Majesty's Customs and Excise. Representatives from the United KIngdom CITES scientific authorities, the Nature Conservancy council (for animals) or the Royal Botanic Gardens (for plants) also attend where necessary.

The proceedings of this committee are confidential and I have nothing to add to the answer which the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Environment gave on 3 June at columns 43–44.
