asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he intends to bring into force the Road Traffic (Driving Instruction) Act 1984.

Most of the provisions of the Act were introduced on 20 May 1985. Section 1 of the Act relating to a requirement for driving instructors to display their official identification documents in tuition cars has yet to be implemented. Preparation of identification documents suitable for this purpose is in hand and we expect to bring this remaining provision into operation later this year.
