HC Deb 14 June 1985 vol 80 c579W
Dr. David Clark

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what instances of use of DDT in the United Kingdom in 1985 his Department is aware of; and what action he will take to seek to prevent such use.

Mrs. Fenner

We have no direct evidence of the use of DDT on crops in 1985. Surveys of crops of types on which DDT was used before clearance was withdrawn will be carried out during 1985 as part of the work of the working party on pesticide residues.

Part III of the Food and Environment Protection Bill seeks to provide Ministers with statutory powers not only to prevent the supply and use of non-approved products but also to seize and dispose of stocks where necessary.
