§ Mr. ChannonImport penetration of overseas manufactured batteries into the United Kingdom has risen from 18 per cent. in 1980 to 37 per cent. in 1984. Despite this rise, the United Kingdom still retains a positive balance of trade in batteries, though this has been in decline since 1980.
