§ Mr. Amessasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what arrangements he is making to enable the public to consult the computerised version of the land registers.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneI recently opened a new com-puterised service to make it easier to search the land registers. The service is available for a trial period at the headquarters of my Department, where the public will be able to search the registers for districts in Greater London and my Department's south-western, eastern, north-western and northern regions. The registers for the remaining districts will be made available in due course.
A charge will be made for use of the computerised registers, but the original volumes will continue to be available as hitherto, without charge.
