HC Deb 03 June 1985 vol 80 c67W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state separately the costs incurred by Civil Service Departments in 1984 in respect of rail, air and travel by motor car, respectively.

Mr. Hayhoe

The information requested is not held centrally. In 1983–84 expenditure on travel and subsistence for the Civil Service amounted to £206 million. Approximately half of this was travel.
