§ Mr. MellorWe are not aware of any major weaknesses in security at Reading prison, but recent press allegations about drug trafficking and misuse are being investigated. My right hon. and learned Friend has recently announced an increase in the number of prison officers to be recruited. This is intended to ease staffing problems at local prisons such as Reading.
