The new police authorities will be funded from percepts within maxima to be prescribed in due course under part I of the Rates Act 1984 and from block grant, police specific grant and other receipts.
§ Mr. Simsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what expenditure levels he proposes to set in respect of 1986–87 for the new joint police and fire and civil defence authorities in the metropolitan area, and the London Fire and Civil Defence Authority.
§ Mr. Brittan[pursuant to his reply, 25 July 1985]: I regret that the proposed expenditure levels for fire and civil defence were given incorrectly. The figures for fire are unchanged. The following should be substituted for the second table in the Answer.
