HC Deb 26 July 1985 vol 83 cc784-5W
Sir John Farr

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to what extent United Kingdom garment, fabric, textile, and clothing exports to Korea are limited by import bans.

Mr. Channon

A variety of yarns, woven fabrics of wool and other animal hair, carpets and silk garments are still restricted import items in the Republic of Korea, and in these cases an import licence is only issued against a certificate of import recommendation from the designated Korean trade association or Ministry. The Korean authorities intend to remove a further range of these goods from the list of restricted items in July 1986.
