§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will revise the Government's policy on initiation within the aid and trade provision to enable the United Kingdom to initiate on all possible projects rather than attempt to match competitive terms already offered by other countries.
§ Mr. ChannonThere is no initiation in suitable cases on the Government initiating within the aid and trade provision but, within limited resources, we must also retain scope to match the aid offers of competitors which could undermine the ability of our companies to win on merit.
