§ Mr. DunnThe first GCSE courses will begin in September 1986, and the first GCSE examinations will be held in 1988. In preparation, there is to be a special programme of in-service training for all GCSE teachers during the 1985–86 academic year, to which the Government are making a substantial financial contribution. We continue to discuss with the examining groups and the secondary examinations council their developing plans for the introduction of the new examination courses.
