asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his estimate of the number of occupied domestic heriditaments in Greater London, the number of people in that area receiving rate rebates and the number of local electors.

The number of occupied domestic hereditaments in Greater London is estimated to be about 2.5 million. Based on local authority returns, the number of rate rebate recipients in 1984–85 is estimated to be 920,000. In the same year the number of electors was 5.06 million.
