§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, following the agreement reached at the meeting of the EC Council (Agriculture) on 11 and 12 March, he will now announce a scheme of grants to young farmers who take over the management of their farms from their parents.
§ Mr. JoplingI intend to assist young farmers by paying them a supplement of 25 per cent. on aid given under improvement plans. The statutory instruments which will give effect to this measure, and introduce the other new capital grants arrangements as from 1 October, was laid before the House in draft yesterday.
