HC Deb 01 July 1985 vol 82 cc75-6W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Transport above what cost per project London Regional Transport is obliged to put contracts out for tender.

Mr. Ridley

There are no such cost limits. In the objectives I set LRT and published last July, I said that I would expect LRT to secure its investmentat the best price through competition wherever possible".

But detailed decision about individual contracts are for LRT's Board and management to take.

Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether the London fire brigade has floor plans for London Regional Transport stations as a matter of policy.

Mr. Ridley

This is a matter for the chairman of LRT, and I suggest that the hon. Lady makes inquiry of him.

Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will discuss with the chairman of London Regional Transport the introduction of a procedure for project management to ensure compliance with the existing licensing system for storage of materials on stations.

Mr. Ridley

I suggest that the Hon. Lady writes to the chairman of LRT herself.
