§ 32. Mr. Holtasked the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has to improve traffic flow on the A1(M) north from Rotherham to Boroughbridge.
§ Mrs. ChalkerA flyover is being constructed at Barnsdale Bar in south Yorkshire to replace an existing ground level junction.
Proposals for improvement of the A1 north of Bramham Crossroads to Wetherby were considered at a public inquiry held in 1982 and 1983 and I expect to announce the decision during the next few months. A scheme is in preparation for widening the A1 from Wetherby to Dishforth.
The need for measures to improve traffic flow on other sections of the A1 is being kept under regular review.
