Terms of Reference To receive instructions from and make recommendations to the Committee in pursuit of the fulfilment of the Committee's Terms of Reference. In so doing, the Board will:

  1. (a) establish such ad hoc groups as the Committee judges necessary to assist with aspects of this task;
  2. (b) in formulating recommendations for the voluntary colleges, consult the Voluntary Sector Consultative Council;
  3. (c) establish effective liaison with the university and direct grant sectors of higher education, with appropriate validating, professional and accrediting bodies and, as necessary with representatives of industry, commerce and the professions; and with those concerned with the provision of higher education in the other countries of the United Kingdom;
  4. (d) secure advice from appropriate sources as necessary on the regional and local aspects of higher education in the local authority and voluntary sectors of higher education.
