HC Deb 14 January 1985 vol 71 c53W
Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the lessons learnt from the recent "Stay Low" campaign.

Mrs. Chalker

I shall be considering both the effect of the campaign, when detailed information is available, and the wider circumstances surrounding it, as soon as possible.

Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement as to the results of the recent "Stay Low" campaign; and whether he was satisfied with the publicity surrounding it.

Mrs. Chalker

It is still too soon to make any assessment of the results of the campaign. I believe that the publicity which the campaign prompted can be taken as a welcome sign of increasing public awareness of the problem of drinking and driving, although I regret the concentration on the slogan rather than upon the campaign as a whole.
