asked the Secretary of State for Transport what assurances were sought during the negotiations on the sale of Sealink that through booking of services between rail and ferry would be preserved.

As part of the sale agreement with the British Railways Board, the purchaser undertook to enter into contracts which included provision for through-ticketing, subject to agreement being reached on the accounting arrangements for payments due.
