asked the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has to amend the rules concerning concessionary bus fares.

Outside London we intend to ensure that participation in concessionary fare schemes is open to all local operators and that reimbursement reflects the true costs of the concession given. We have no proposals for any change in the provisions on concessionary fares included in the London Regional Transport Act 1984.
